June 17, 2004 - MOTM Registration almost full

I know Deb just sent out a note reminding you to register for the convention if you plan on coming but I am going to reiterate that and follow with some historical numbers... We are already over 2000 people registered and historically over the last three months of registration we get the bulk of the people registering...  The final three months July, August & September since 1999 are:
1999 - 1267 people registered the last three months
2000 - 1427
2001 - 1545
2002 - 1338
2003 - 1826

With 2000 already registered and 15 days left in July well, you can bet your bippy (what is a bippy by the way) that we will sell out...  This is a real nice way to warn the potential 300 - 900 people who traditionally sign up the last three months that we are closing at 3000 and once we are full, we are FULL...  I can tell you, as well as Drifty and Deb, that is not fun telling people SORRY, you are to late. None of us like that situation but it sure looks like we are going to be in that position this year sooner than ever before...

Please do your fellow club members a favor and talk to them, tell them we are almost full and it is time to register before it is to late. We have been cautioning you all and this is just one more note reminding you that we will be stopping registration at 3000...

Thanks all

June 16, 2004 - MOTM FAQ

Well folks...

I been getting some emails back channel about MOTM, who can go and who cannot. So here are some FAQS.

MOTM FAQS:
Q: Who can attend the Meeting Of The Minds Convention?
A: Anyone who is a member of a Parrot Heads In Paradise, Inc chartered, official Parrot Head Club. You must be member before registering. Membership must be in effect by September 15, 2004.  This means you only have to be a member, we do not require any points or anything...

Q: Who do I make the check out to?
A: Make checks payable to: PHIP, Inc

Q: What happens if after I register I find out I cannot come to the convention?
A: There are NO REFUNDS OR TRANSFERS OF REGISTRATION FEES. All proceeds from the convention registration fees go to PHIP Charities.

Q: When will I receive confirmation that I am registered?
A: If you register online using a credit card, you will receive an email confirmation immediately provided you supplied a valid email address. If you mail in your registration you will receive an email confirmation provided you supplied a valid email address. FINAL Confirmations will be mailed after registration closes.  You can also check with your club president or other officer, they are requested to confirm each and every person who says they are a member.

Q: I am not a member of a Parrot Head Club. Can I just select a club when I register and you enroll me?
A: No. Registering for convention does not enroll you in any parrot Head Club. Nor can we enroll you in a club; you must do that prior to registering.

Q: There is no Parrot Head Club near me, what can I do?
A: You can join the Virtual Parrot Head Club-The ONLY Online Parrot Head Club at http://vphc.com This club was established for those who have no local club.

Q: Well now I registered, can I bring a date or does he/she have to register also?
A: No, no dates or spouses unless they are registered. Each person has to be registered to get into the closed events. There are no exceptions.  This means if you show up for a closed event and you spouse or date is not registered they will not be allowed in...

Q: When does registration close?
A: Online registration closes on September 25, 2004. Mail-in registrations must be postmarked no later than September 20, 2004. Or when we reach 3000 which ever comes first.  This year we will hit the 3000 mark sooner than September, as I am writing this we have almost 2200 registered...

Q: I missed the deadline is there anything I can do?
A: No. We set a deadline date for reasons. We need time to handle all the administrative work as well as supplying counts to various organizations including the City of Key West for fire & crowd control.
********************************************************
Any questions, you can email me or any Board member or the registration chairperson... if you haven't registered yet do so soon. Go to http://www.phip.com/motm/ do not miss the premier Parrot head Party of the year... five days and nights of music and that is just the official events.
